GiroDisc Brake Rotors for Porsche 991.2 Turbo / Turbo S
Upgrade your factory brakes or replace worn-out rotors with premium GiroDisc brake rotors. These rotors are an ideal choice for track use and offer a cost-effective, high-quality brake replacement solution compared to Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).
The central hat section of each rotor is precision-machined from strictly U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-specification aluminum. The brake disc itself is made from proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in-house at GiroDisc. The rotor features a curved vane design, a technology developed in racing, which acts as a centrifugal pump to effectively force cooling air through the disc. The larger rotor mass serves as a greater heat sink, resulting in enhanced performance on the track, a reduction in brake fade, and improved longevity of brake components.
The rotor and hat assembly incorporates a floating mount system, utilizing 8 or 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by GiroDisc in the USA to their exacting specifications and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins bear the load from braking forces while allowing both axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers. To prevent cold-start rotor noise, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side. These washers allow the rotor to expand with heat but eliminate the rattle and noise commonly associated with floating rotors. This float also enables the rotor to self-center between the brake pads.
Once the GiroDisc system is installed, only the cast iron rotor needs to be replaced when necessary, offering a cost-effective long-term braking solution. Purpose: Provides a high-performance, durable, and cost-effective brake rotor upgrade, ideal for track use and superior to standard replacements.
