High Flow Carbon Fiber Y-Pipe

IPD’s new Carbon Y-Pipes are engineered to deliver substantial net horsepower and torque gains across both power curves, while offering a significant weight reduction compared to cast aluminum constructions. Inspired by IPD’s proven 991 Turbo Y-Pipes, these lightweight components feature slightly larger non-round runners and optimized merge collector areas. This design dramatically improves intake air flow and overall engine performance for both stock and highly modified Turbos.




Utilizing Carbon Fiber construction allowed IPD to minimize wall thickness and maximize the use of available space, resulting in a larger cross-sectional area and increased air flow. IPD partnered with top-tier motorsports to employ the highest quality UV stable structural prepreg composite with an autoclave cure. To ensure optimal hose fit and aesthetics, the parts were built with female tools. Furthermore, to maintain a uniform and smooth internal surface without the folds and wrinkles typical of vacuum bag layups, IPD invested in bladder tooling. This aerospace-grade process and material yielded a 75% weight reduction for the part, which is located behind the axle centerline, making it a significant contributor to the handling and dynamics of rear-engine cars.
